Court Appointed Special Advocates of the South Plains is once again organizing the Tech Theta “Speak Up for Kids” 5K race on April 10, 2010! The run/walk hopes to bring awareness to the staggering number of abused children living in our local area. The race will take place on the campus of Texas Tech University, with the start/finish line located at the Frazier Alumni Pavilion. We will provide chip timing for the serious runners, while also presenting a family-friendly atmosphere targeting good physical fitness, especially for children. The event includes a KIDS K for the younger athletes (kids up to age 12), and kids warm-up with Texas Tech University athletes, mascot, and Tech Theta volunteers. Kids K will begin at 9 am, followed at 9:30 a.m. with the start of the 5K. The event will also include an awards ceremony and balloon launch. Come join the fun! Early registration is $20 and available online by clicking HERE, day-of registration will be $30. We look forward to another exciting race day while raising advocacy awareness for abused and neglected children in the South Plains.
