More about CASA volunteer training: To become a CASA volunteer, thirty hours of initial training is required. The training includes the following topics: the foster care system, the court system, advocacy of children in need, cultural sensitivity training, the effects of abuse on children, etc. Training hours are broken down as follows: # Classroom hours + 1 hour for interview + 7.5 hours for homework assignment + # hands-on training (case related observation) = 30 hours (This will vary according to the training curriculum the trainee signs up for)
