CASA training
volunteer in-training opportunities
You must be a CASA volunteer 'in-training' in order to participate in any out of court events.
For court hearings and mediations, please come to the CASA office at 916 Main, Suite 425 at least 15 minutes before they begin. Dress nice. For PPT's you must be there at least 10 minutes before the start of the meeting. When going to CPS, you will enter through the north entrance, sign in at the receptionist desk, and let the receptionist know you are with CASA and that you are there for the PPT for a certain case at a certain time. If you notice that the time is creeping closer to the scheduled PPT, ask the receptionist if there is a delay. The CASA supervisors will know you are there so one of them will come out and get you. Dress nice casual.
The Lubbock CPS office is #7 Briercroft Office Park, 762-2680, dial '0' for receptionist. You must notify Peggy at the CASA office, 763-2272, at least one day before the hearing, PPT, mediation, etc. you expect to attend.
Please note--hearings and PPT's are subject to last minute changes and cancellations. Please call the training director as close to the event as possible to determine if it will be held. If you do attend a hearing or a PPT that has been rescheduled without your knowledge, we apologize in advance for any inconvenience this causes you.
